Butyrospermum parkii
Benefits - Natural
Shea butter, an ivory-hued fat derived from the nut of the karite tree, is deeply nourishing yet gentle, with a texture that absorbs easily into the skin. It contains oleic acid, a saturated fatty acid that closely resembles the sebum our skin naturally produces. This similarity promotes its absorption and is believed to enhance the uptake of other active ingredients.
To extract shea butter, the nuts of the karite tree are first dried and crushed, then roasted and pressed into a smooth liquor. This substance is subsequently whipped and kneaded to produce a rich, creamy butter.
Benefits:
- Deep Moisturization: Shea butter is exceptionally moisturizing due to its rich content of fatty acids and vitamins, helping to soften and hydrate the skin deeply.
- Skin Soothing: Its anti-inflammatory properties help soothe skin irritation and reduce redness, making it beneficial for conditions like eczema and psoriasis.
- Enhances Skin Elasticity: Rich in vitamins A and E, shea butter can help boost the skin's natural collagen production, promoting elasticity and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
