Our philosophy · since 2019
Body-first care with a fragrance point of view.
Most body-care brands treat scent as the last decision. We made it the first. Formulation, ritual, ingredients — all in service of a fragrance memory that stays with you.
We do not make beauty. We make body care that means something.
In 2019 I wanted a body wash for myself. Not the imported one at three thousand a bottle. Not the local one that smelled like a hospital corridor. Something in between — Indian, modern, scent-led, dermatologically serious. It did not exist. So we composed it.
Seven years and one hundred and twenty formulations later, the first question is still the first question we asked. What is this for, and who is it actually for? If the answer is "a pretty bottle on a shelf," we do not make it.
This page exists because the rules deserved to be written down. So you can hold us to them — and so we can hold ourselves to them too.
Fragrance is the brief
When we develop a new product, we do not start with the formula. We start with the fragrance. The scent is the brief — it determines the texture, the colour, the ritual position, the packaging. Everything is in service of a specific olfactory memory we are trying to create. This is not how most beauty brands work. It is how we work.
"Most houses formulate first and perfume later. We start at the trail."
India's oldest knowledge, modernised
India has a deep relationship with scent, bathing, oiling, and body ritual. We take that inheritance seriously as inspiration, then translate it into modern body care with clear product language and repeatable routines.
"Formulas that are both ancient and current."
A ritual, not a product
The 4-step Cleanse Ritual — Cleanse, Exfoliate, Hydrate, Lock — is not marketing language. It is the sequence in which TLC products are designed to be used. Each step exists because the next one works better for it. The ritual is the product. The products only make sense inside it.
"Alone, they perform. Together, they trail."
The Cleanse Ritual · since 2019
Four movements. One trail.
The order each TLC bottle was composed to live inside. The ritual is the product.
Opening on damp skin
The wash. Lathered onto damp skin, sulphate-free, the barrier intact. The scent goes on first — the top notes start here.
Shop body washes → 02Twice weeklyUndressing the surface
The scrub. Twice a week, in slow circles. Removes the day so the lotion has a deeper place to land.
Shop body scrubs → 0360-second ruleHolding within 60 seconds
The lotion. Pressed into damp skin within the minute. The absorption window closes fast — outside it, sixty percent of the formula is wasted.
Shop body lotions → 04Lock the trailTrailing with mist
The mist. Inside the wrist. Behind the ear. The hem of a scarf. Lasts twelve hours. Walks into the room before you, lingers in it after.
Shop body mists →Non-negotiables · since day one
Four commitments we keep close.
Fragrance-Led
Every formula begins with a fragrance brief. Scent is not the finish — it is the foundation from which everything else is derived.
India-Rooted
Our scent and ritual language is rooted in India's long relationship with bathing, oiling, attar, and everyday body care.
Clean-Formulated
Formulation choices are explained with care, so customers understand the product role without needing inflated claims.
Ritual-Designed
Products are designed to work as a sequence — the Cleanse Ritual. Each step prepares your skin for the next. Used alone, they perform. Together, they transform.
"
This is not beauty as usual. This is body care with a point of view.
