Body Care for Dry, Dehydrated Skin
Skin that drank.
Dehydrated isn't dry — it's thirsty. The barrier is intact, but the water inside has slipped away. Here's how we put it back.

How is dehydrated different from dry?
Dry skin lacks oil. Dehydrated skin lacks water. Dry is a type, dehydrated is a state — even oily skin can be dehydrated. The fix is different: dry needs lipids, dehydrated needs humectants plus a seal.
Should I apply serum to wet or dry skin?
Damp. Hyaluronic acid pulls water from whatever's nearest — if your skin is bone-dry, it'll pull from your deeper layers and make things worse. Mist first, serum on damp skin, cream to seal.
Why does my skin feel tight even after moisturiser?
Almost always: cleanser. Foaming, sulphate-rich cleansers strip the lipids that hold water in. Try a cream or oil cleanser for two weeks — the rest of your routine starts working harder for free.
Can I use this with retinol or acids?
Yes — actively recommended. The Drink layer goes underneath your treatments and the Skin Lock seals on top. Most "actives stripped me" stories are actually missing-hydration stories.
"My skin used to feel like paper by 2pm. Now it just… stays."
"Thirsty skin is not a flaw.
It is a signal worth answering."
Skin hydration — questions answered
Dry skin is a skin type — it produces less natural oil (sebum) and needs lipid-rich moisturisers. Dehydrated skin is a skin condition — any skin type (including oily) can become dehydrated when it lacks water. Signs of dehydration include tightness, dullness, fine lines that disappear when skin is pressed, and increased sensitivity. This collection targets skin dehydration specifically.
Start with the body wash to cleanse without stripping moisture, then the body lotion or in-shower moisturiser immediately after. The key is application timing — moisturisers applied within 3 minutes of showering, while skin is still slightly damp, trap significantly more water than products applied on dry skin. For very dehydrated skin, layer body oil on top of lotion.
Immediate improvement in skin feel (softer, less tight) can be expected after the first use. Visible improvement in skin texture, tone, and plumpness typically appears within 2–3 weeks of consistent daily use. Long-term dehydration takes sustained hydration habits to reverse — consistency matters more than quantity of product used.
The body care products in this range are formulated for body skin, which is thicker than facial skin. While they are gentle enough that face use won't cause harm, we recommend facial-specific hydrating products for the face. The body products are best used from neck to toe for optimal results.
Yes — oily skin can be dehydrated too. TLC dehydration body care is formulated to provide water-based hydration without heavy occlusive oils that would make oily skin worse. Lightweight lotions are the best pick for oily-but-dehydrated skin. The body wash in this range will not strip skin oils excessively, which is a common trigger for dehydration in oily skin types.
The dehydration range features ceramides (rebuild the skin barrier to prevent moisture loss), hyaluronic acid or aloe (draw water into skin cells), glycerin (humectant that binds atmospheric moisture), and niacinamide in some variants (strengthens barrier function). These work together to hydrate and maintain hydration rather than just adding surface moisture temporarily.
Once daily minimum — post-shower is ideal when the skin barrier is open and absorption is highest. For severely dehydrated skin, twice-daily application (morning and evening) accelerates recovery. Once you achieve your target hydration level, once-daily use is typically sufficient to maintain it.
Most TLC body care products contain light fragrance, including variants in the dehydration range. If you have fragrance sensitivity and skin dehydration simultaneously, we recommend the most minimally fragranced options in the range or checking ingredient lists for the specific fragrance compounds used. All products are free from harsh sulfates and parabens.

HOW TO LAYER ACTIVES
Order: cleanser → toner → serum → moisturizer → SPF. Never layer salicylic with retinol on the same night. Vitamin C in the morning, retinol at night. Read our active layering guide.
RESULTS TIMELINE
Week 1 — skin feels calmer. Week 4 — texture smooths, pores look smaller. Week 8 — pigmentation starts to fade. Week 12 — visible glow. Consistency matters more than the product.
WHEN TO SEE A DERMATOLOGIST
If a concern persists past 8 weeks of consistent use, or you have a recurring condition like cystic acne or melasma, please consult a dermatologist. TLC actives complement medical treatment but don't replace it.
