Hand sanitizer — questions answered
TLC hand sanitizers are formulated at 70% isopropyl or ethyl alcohol — the WHO-recommended minimum effective concentration for killing bacteria and viruses on hands. Formulations below 60% alcohol are significantly less effective; TLC sanitizers meet and exceed the recommended threshold.
TLC sanitizers include glycerin and conditioning agents that counter the drying effect of alcohol. They are formulated for frequent use without the tight, cracked-skin feeling of basic alcohol gels. If you sanitize 10+ times daily, we recommend following with TLC hand cream a few times during the day to maintain skin barrier health.
Yes — 70% alcohol-based sanitizers are effective against a broad spectrum of bacteria, many viruses (including enveloped viruses), and most common pathogens. For maximum effectiveness, apply enough product to coat both hands fully and rub for at least 20 seconds until dry — do not rinse off. Physical dirt on hands should be removed with soap and water first before sanitizing.
TLC sanitizers are formulated for adults. Adult supervision is required for children using alcohol-based sanitizers — ingestion of even small amounts of high-alcohol products can be harmful to young children. Keep bottles stored out of reach of children under 6. For supervised use in older children, apply and rub in fully under adult oversight.
No — TLC sanitizers are gel-based formulas that absorb quickly and leave no sticky residue when rubbed in completely. The drying time is typically 15–20 seconds with thorough rubbing. If hands feel sticky, less product is needed — a few millilitres (the size of a 10-rupee coin in the palm) is sufficient for two hands.
TLC sanitizers are formulated for hand use, not surface disinfection. While they will work on hard surfaces as a temporary measure, they are not tested or approved as surface disinfectants. For reliable surface sanitization, use a product formulated and tested for that purpose. For hands, TLC sanitizer is the right product.
TLC offers both scented and unscented sanitizer variants. The scented variants use skin-safe cosmetic fragrance at levels that comply with International Fragrance Association (IFRA) guidelines. The fragrance is light — designed to improve the application experience without overwhelming the hands. If you prefer no fragrance, look for the unscented variant in the range.
TLC sanitizers have a shelf life of 24 months from the manufacturing date. Over time, alcohol can evaporate (particularly if the cap is left open), reducing the effective concentration. Always keep the cap sealed between uses. A sanitizer with a compromised seal that has been stored for extended periods may be below effective concentration — when in doubt, replace it.

Step into the Cleanse Ritual. Three steps, built to layer, designed for damp skin — so scent and moisture lock in within the 60-second absorption window.
THE 60-SECOND RULE
Body lotion absorbs deepest on damp skin within the first 60 seconds after a shower. The skin barrier is open, ready to lock in moisture and fragrance. Outside that window most of the lotion sits on top of the skin instead of soaking in — you lose roughly 60% of efficacy.
SCENT THAT LASTS PAST MIDNIGHT
DAILY · DERMATOLOGIST TESTED
Every batch is dermatologist tested. Free of SLS / SLES, parabens, phthalates and mineral oil. Pregnancy-safe, non-comedogenic, pH balanced at 5.5. Made in a GMP-certified facility in India.
BUILT FOR INDIAN SKIN + CLIMATE
Formulas are weighted for the Indian climate — lightweight ceramide + hyaluronic blends for humid months, richer shea-butter textures for the dry winter. Each scent world has 3 – 6 SKUs so you can build the ritual that fits your day.
HOW TO LAYER A SCENT
Step 1 — wash on damp skin. Step 2 — scrub twice a week to open the skin. Step 3 — lotion within 60 seconds of stepping out. Step 4 — mist your pulse points. Each layer doubles the wear of the one before. This is the TLC scent-trail method.
